The asteroid that got dinosaurs extinct landed in southeastern Mexico. Part of it was on land and another part in the Gulf of Mexico. It formed the Chicxulub Crater. This happened 66 million years ago.

Stars have planets around them 🪐
There are billions of stars in a galaxy
There are trillions of galaxies
So the probability of life outside of our solar system is high.

Science: Life in the universe (@Science Simon) [2025-07-02 08:17:48] (ID: 87)

Is there life outside of Earth?

People often think of other planets in our solar system like
Jupiter, Mars and Neptune when trying to answer this
but that is thinking too small and close.

The sun is a star. Just like the sun, other stars have planets
around them. Our galaxy (Milky Way Galaxy) is estimated to have between 100 to
400 Billion stars.

The probability that there is a planet out there with life in the
more than 100 billion solar systems just in our galaxy is high.

All that is just in one galaxy. scientists estimate there's between
100 billion to 2 trillion other galaxies in the observable universe.
