Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, officially known as the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It features mountainous terrain, Mekong River scenery, French colonial architecture, and a rich Buddhist culture. Laos is bordered by Myanmar and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the southeast, and Thailand to the west. Laos has untouched natural beauty, including stunning waterfalls like Kuang Si Falls and majestic mountains, a rich Buddhist culture with numerous temples and the daily alms-giving ceremony, and adventurous activities like Mekong River cruising and jungle trekking.
