Feed a man bread everyday and he hates you, Starve him for a month and he loves you the day you finally feed him; in psychology they call this the “baseline trap”. Feelings aren’t based on what’s given, they’re based on the distance from the expectation. Raise the bar and you become a slave to it. The better you are at something, the more dangerous it becomes to dissapoint. If Steph Curry drops 20 points, it is underwhelming. If a bench player does the same, it’s a career night. - by @polymaths.unite
