The most important factor in losing weight is diet. The amount of food you eat can be measured in a unit of energy called calories. Your body uses this energy for work e.g. circulation of blood, digestion, reproduction of cells, removal of waste and for voluntary movements e.g. walking, standing and lifting.
Our bodies store the calories we don't use as fat but if we use more calories than we eat, we lose weight. If you don't eat enough calories to supply energy for the work your body does, your body begins to use the fat stored in your body for energy.
If you reduce how much you are using, make sure you are still getting the essential nutrients that your body needs like mineral water, salts and vitamins.
